U15 Div 1: DouglasHall 1
Tramore Ath 1
It was honours even on the astro pitch at Moneygourmey this morning in a hard-fought encounter. Tramore opened well against the strong breeze and Ronan Dalton and Zach Slowey were on the front foot. Douglas Hall soon settled however and took the lead against the run of play on 15 mins and two minutes later Kevin Horgan had to make a superb save to stop Douglas Hall from doubling the advantage. Tramore themselves then created a great chance with Dalton shooting narrowly over after lovely approach play. The rest of the first half passed with few chances created and with the prospect of the strong wind to come in the second half Tramore were well in the game although losing Jason O Mahony to injury meant no more substitutes for the second half. Douglas Hall started the brighter and on 45 minutes Horgan made another fine save, while at the other end Andrew O Connell was unlucky to scuff his shot after being played straight through. As the game progressed the home side started to dominate and but for the brilliance of Horgan and centre back Matthew Quigley the game would have been lost. However, fortune favours the brave and 7 minutes from time the gamble of pushing left back Jack O Connor forward for a corner paid off as the attempted clearance fell to him and he blasted home the equaliser. With just 12 players to choose from due to accident and Injury Tramore were satisfied with the point. |
