U15 Div 1: St Marys 5 Tramore Ath 2
Tramore fell to a second successive league defeat at St Marys on Saturday
After riding their luck on a couple of occasions early on, Tramore took the lead against the run of play when Emmet Sheehan bundled home from a corner. St Marys continued to cause trouble and on 22 minutes were level. Both sides were evenly matched to the break without creating too many chances. The game was decided early in the second half when after Ronan Dalton crashed a shot off the bar in the 50th minute St Marys scored twice in as many minutes to take the driving seat. Emmet Sheehan threw Tramore a life line with his second, but minutes later St Marys got their 4th. After a long delay, due to an injury to Cian Kennefick, St Marys scored a late 5th.
Cian was unlucky to break his arm in an accidental collision and we would like to wish him well in his recuperation. Thanks also to the referee and the St Marys officials for their professionalism and sensitivity in handling the situation.
